Under Douglas Coupland creative direction I had the opportunity to prepare several sketches in a very descriptive style depicting how the new Terry Fox Plaza would look like. We had worked on a few other ideas for the memorial… but “Terry’s hop” idea was the one better representing The Marathon of Hope across Canada… The difficult part was to perfectly depict in only four key frames Terry’s particular run after watching several videos of him. Once the idea was approved by the Fox family, Doug contacted Caleb Ashmore to translate my sketches into a 3D model… and then to be built in bronze by Harman Sculpture Foundry in Alberta.
